FP&A Analyst

The role

Build operating budgets, forecasts, and reporting that help owners and leadership teams understand performance and decide what to do next.

What you’ll do

• Build and maintain monthly budgets, rolling forecasts, cash-flow models, and scenario analyses.
• Translate sales, staffing, capacity, pricing, and other operating inputs into financial assumptions.
• Bring actual results together from accounting systems and operational sources; check their completeness and consistency.
• Explain variances in revenue, gross margin, overhead, and cash flow, identifying the business drivers behind the changes.
• Create clear dashboards and management reporting with useful KPIs, commentary, and recommended next questions.
• Partner with client teams and fractional CFOs to refresh forecasts, track decisions, and improve reporting processes.

What you bring

• Practical experience in FP&A, financial analysis, management accounting, or a comparable analytical role.
• Strong Excel skills and the ability to build transparent, well-structured financial models.
• An understanding of income statements, balance sheets, cash flow, and the connections between them.
• Comfort working with incomplete or inconsistent data, documenting assumptions, and checking your work.
• The ability to explain financial findings in plain language and collaborate directly with nonfinancial teams.
• Dependable follow-through, sound judgment, and care with confidential client information.

Helpful experience

• Experience with QBO, Xero, NetSuite, reporting tools, or business intelligence platforms.
• Experience with multiple businesses, departments, or business lines.
• Familiarity with Power Query, SQL, or other tools that reduce manual reporting work.
