Fractional CFO

The role

Serve as a financial leadership partner to client businesses, connecting strategy, operations, financial planning, and the decisions that shape their next chapter.

What you’ll do

• Lead financial planning and performance conversations with owners, executives, and operating leaders.
• Develop operating plans, budgets, forecasts, cash strategies, and decision frameworks grounded in how each business works.
• Evaluate pricing, staffing, capacity, capital spending, growth opportunities, and the tradeoffs between departments or business lines.
• Guide analysts and accounting partners toward reliable reporting and clear, actionable financial insight.
• Facilitate planning sessions, present findings to leadership, and turn decisions into owners, measures, and follow-through.
• Support financing, lender or board discussions, and transaction evaluation when included in the client engagement.
• Manage client relationships, set priorities, communicate risks, and maintain a consistent review rhythm.

What you bring

• A demonstrated record of senior financial leadership as a CFO, finance leader, or advisor with comparable responsibility.
• Strong command of financial statements, cash management, forecasting, profitability, and operating economics.
• Experience partnering with owners or executives on difficult decisions and competing priorities.
• The ability to understand a business quickly, challenge assumptions constructively, and explain tradeoffs clearly.
• Comfort guiding work across analysts, accounting teams, and operating leaders.
• Strong facilitation, client communication, judgment, and ownership of commitments.
• A disciplined approach to confidentiality and professional boundaries across client engagements.

Helpful experience

• Experience with QBO, Xero, NetSuite, reporting tools, or business intelligence platforms.
• Experience advising multiple businesses or leading finance across divisions or business lines.
• Experience in founder-led businesses, growth environments, operational change, or transactions.
• Relevant professional credentials or advanced education, alongside demonstrated practical experience.
